nasone

nasone is the first outcome of an ongoing exploration into industrially produced goods and their remnants after consumption, a simple and adjustable luminaire made using the flexible and springy metal slats from a discarded venetian blind.

Through reuse and reappropriation, we use this project to reflect on materiality and value, on the illusion of originality in design, on the concept of authorship.

The lamp is mostly composed of very simple and readily available components, and is designed around them in ways that celebrate their intrinsic material properties, finding unconventional uses and places for what we know and recognise, with the hope of understanding it through different perspectives and relations.
