projektado magazine: issue 2

Published by projektado collective

Survival is a variable and contextual concept, not only perceivable in the confine between life and death, but also in acts of resilience, adaptation, conformity, disobedience, violence, love, spontaneity, sharing, rivalry, preservation. As ultimately the act of survival, even when considered as such only by those performing it, is motivated by the very same tremendous and overpowering impulse to continue to exist, capable of redefining and overwriting our concepts of morality, legality, and formality.

Survival and design is the latest and ongoing issue of projektado magazine, a multi-media exploration of a deep theoretical foundation through writing, experimental video curation, podcast series, interactive pieces, and more. The issue dynamically develops and changes on the collective’s platform as more content is added or reviewed, an approach to knowledge sharing that embraces its intrinsically transformative nature.

Survival and design is a wide-spanning knowledge sharing project that has so far resulted in multiple collaborations with multi-disciplinary contributors, including Aim Ren Beland, César Beuve-Méry, Amber Morrison Fox, Tyler Haage, Dagger Han, Tad Hirsch, Theo Houghtaling, Joe Purvis, Peter Willis, and 20 artists and art collectives who were selected during the open call for a video project that is yet to be released.

The project originated from a week-long stay in Italy, that brought for the first time all members of projektado collective under the same roof to work and live together. The project since its beginning intended to stretch and experiment with the idea of magazine, pushing towards alternative forms of knowledge dissemination and sharing in design and beyond.
